Software that holdsin the field.

React Native and TypeScript products that technicians can finish a job in, even on a bad connection.

What I take on

Most of my work is one product, carried from the data model to the screen a technician taps at seven in the morning.

  • Mobile applications

React Native and TypeScript apps for iOS and Android, built for people using them one-handed, on site, on bad connections.

    • React Native
    • TypeScript
    • Redux
    • Firebase
  • Product interfaces

React and Next.js front ends with a real component system behind them, so the tenth screen costs less to build than the first.

    • React
    • Next.js
    • Tailwind CSS
    • TypeScript
  • APIs and services

Node.js and Express services with typed contracts shared across clients, plus the data models the product workflow actually needs.

    • Node.js
    • Express.js
    • MongoDB
    • REST APIs
  • End to end delivery

One person carrying a product from data model to shipped interface, which keeps the architecture and the UI honest with each other.

    • Delivery

Built for the long term

I start from the job on the floor, then model it, then ship an interface that still holds at version four.

Discover

Map the real job: who is in the hoistway, the warehouse or the classroom, and what they cannot do today because the software is elsewhere.

  • Sit with the operation, not the feature list
  • Name the objects: jobs, assets, batches, crews
  • Find the moment the current tool drops the thread

Where attention sits

The problems that decide whether a product still holds together after the fourth release.

  • React Native product architecture

Structuring apps so features can be added without the navigation and state layers collapsing under them.

  • TypeScript-first design

Modelling the domain in types before the screens exist, so refactors stay cheap and contracts stay explicit.

  • Offline-first experiences

Local persistence, queued mutations and visible sync state for teams working where the signal is not.

  • Full-stack systems with Node.js

Service and data layers designed alongside the client, rather than fitted to it after the fact.

The portfolio is also an operating system

A custom operating-system-inspired portfolio for exploring projects, skills and professional work.

  • A separate mobile shell rather than a shrunken desktop
  • A terminal and command palette that actually resolve
  • Theme, wallpaper and motion settings that persist

Questions

  • What kind of work do you take on?

Mobile and web products for operations: service, maintenance, construction, coaching and API tooling. If the user is in the field, that is usually a fit.

  • Do you only build React Native?

React Native is the core of the field apps. The same TypeScript models also land in Next.js, Node services and this desktop OS.

  • Can I see the work running?

Launch SundanOS for the interactive portfolio, or open a project case study from Selected work. MASSAED is live on the App Store and Play Store.

  • How does a project start?

A short brief is enough: the job to be done, who uses it, and when you need it. I will say quickly whether I am the right build.

  • Is SundanOS just a macOS clone?

No. It is a custom desktop and mobile shell for the portfolio. The Applications folder, arcade and case studies are the product, not a skin over Finder.

Start a project

Tell me what the product has to do and who has to use it. A rough brief is enough to work out whether I am the right build.
